Shinki Minki

Shinki Minki

I know a sorceress
whose craft includes powers oslingshot, pasta boiling and spinning spells around a pole.

Waving a frisbee to bless,
All creatures -
Frat boys, geckos, cats and Japanese vehicles.

Her stockpile -
Avogadro’s number equivalents of tofu,
Piles and piles circling the Earth.

Concocting transformations,
From block to cubes, slabs and crumbles,
Cast into soups, salads and scrambles.

Bewitching aromas infuse her dwelling,
Diffusing from a flower painted caldron.
She arranges these displays on Corningware plates for her guests.

Singing odes to her ancestors while company munch away,
Instructing them how to compost the scraps,
After partaking in proteinaceous supplementation.

Poof!
After the transfer of energy
The games must begin.

Leaping off lava rocks, test driving CVS hula hoops,
Slipping in and out of tennis shoes and flip flops to trample,
Nonnative root species and scorching Hawaiian sands.

Haters beware!
Shinkiminki will debunk your unsupported claims,
She will outwit your jumbled attempts to disempower the vulnerable!

She is the undercover Avenger
Whose voice unleashes daggers
Into your papery conspiracy theories

I want to be with Tinka right now,
She’s the forty something year old-
Who will bounce on a trampoline with me
And dress up in cowgirl outfits to go to Safeway.

Instead, I will make a smoothie and
dance a jig at home,
Toasting to ShinkiMinki to spread anti-corruption
and awaken our senses,

For decades to come!
